G-Force (Extraction)
G-force is the extraction force a washer applies during its final spin, measured in multiples of gravity. Higher G-force removes more water from the load, which shortens the dryer cycle that follows.
Why G-Force Matters in a Laundromat Sale
Extraction speed is where washer selection touches the utility bill. Water left in a load has to be evaporated by gas or electricity, so a higher-extract washer reduces dryer time, reduces fuel consumption, and frees dryer capacity at peak hours. Utilities were the most-cited operator problem in the CLA's 2024 survey, selected by 53% of respondents (Source: CLA 2024 Laundry Industry Survey), which makes this a real economic variable rather than a specification.
Example
Moving a load from a 100 G machine to a 300 G machine can cut the following dryer cycle meaningfully. Across a store, that shows as lower gas cost per load and higher dryer availability — but the saving must be modeled from actual cycle data and local tariffs, not from a percentage in a brochure.

- Record the extraction rating for each installed washer model.
- Compare dryer minutes sold against washer cycles to see whether extraction is doing its job.
- Model any efficiency claim from your own consumption and tariffs, not from a manufacturer percentage.
