Gas BTU Load
Gas BTU load is the total heat input the gas-fired equipment in a laundromat demands, summing dryers and water heating. It determines whether the incoming gas service, meter, and piping can support the equipment package.
Why Gas BTU Load Matters in a Laundromat Sale
BTU load is the constraint that quietly kills retool plans. Adding larger dryers or a bigger boiler can exceed the capacity of the existing meter, regulator, or service line, and upgrading any of those involves the utility, permits, and time. It is a diligence item on any purchase and a design item on any retool, and finding out after the equipment is ordered is expensive.
Example
A planned retool adds four 75 lb dryers. Summing the new load shows the existing meter is undersized. The utility upgrade adds weeks and five figures to a project that was quoted on equipment cost alone.
